A proud product of multi-generational roots in Lake Forest Park, many longtime residents know Bryce as part of the beloved "James Gang" — a local family whose home was a hub of community connection. Growing up in their orbit meant summer days spent at the legendary backyard pool (complete with a high dive that would give any insurance agent pause) and taking part in unforgettable Fourth of July celebrations that still bring neighbors together to this day. Now, Bryce is running for City Council to carry forward that spirit of community, service, and hometown pride.

Most people never have to learn how to walk again — but after a hang gliding accident left Bryce with a serious back injury, that’s precisely what he had to do. It took every bit of grit and resilience he had. Today, he's ready to bring that same determination to the Lake Forest Park City Council — working hard, staying grounded, and never giving up on what’s best for our community.

A lifelong Northwest outdoor enthusiast, Bryce James has deep roots in LFP and a strong record of service. He’s endorsed by over a dozen current and former Lake Forest Park councilmembers and longtime residents who believe it’s time for fresh leadership and accountability.

When asked how he would lead differently from his opponent, Bryce put it plainly:

“After nine years on the City Council — without facing a single opponent — Semra Riddle’s record shows a pattern of unchecked spending, repeated tax increases, and consistent support for Sound Transit’s plan for Lake Forest Park, despite its serious environmental and community impacts. The City’s alternative plan — the only one she strongly opposed — would have better protected our trees, our neighborhoods, and our tax dollars.”

You only need to spend a few minutes talking with Bryce to recognize his innate ability to quickly assess complex financial projects—whether it’s something as large-scale as the light rail or a local infrastructure plan. He brings clarity, integrity, and a long-term lens to the conversation. Lake Forest Park would be lucky to have someone with both vision and practical intelligence on the council.
