Yesterday afternoon, Northshore Fire and surrounding fire departments responded to a house fire in Kenmore at about the 19400 block of 68th Ave NE. The human occupants got out safely, although, according to one of them, she's not sure about her two cats. The occupant stated she went to turn on a light in the house and "it was out," then saw smoke coming from a shed attached to the back of the house. Radio reports stated, "Smoke visible from the shed."

Neighbors were quick to help, including a nurse, although the occupants didn't appear to be injured. One neighbor brought food, another lawn chairs for the occupants to wait out firefighting efforts. It appeared a Red Cross representative was on the scene assisting the occupants.

After about an hour, it was reported over the radio that the fire was out. "We have a good tap," and then a short time later, "We have an extension in the basement wall," which means more burning, smoldering, or fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
