On Saturday, April 12th, the Shorecrest girls varsity track team competed in the Birger-Solberg Track meet in Bellingham taking first place.
From Coach Brandon Christensen:
“Congrats to our Girls Team who went up and crushed it at the Solberg Invite - taking FIRST PLACE and bringing home the trophy! To top that off, we had several fantastic showings by our individual athletes. Edison Phillips won the Discus for the guys, while Jackson Sketchley also took first place - setting a NEW SCHOOL RECORD - with a throw over 190 feet! This shattered the previous record by more than 15 feet!! (Side note - the previous record belonged to current Javelin coach, Mingure Dorjee.) Speaking of school records - The 2k Steeplechase school records both went down on Saturday with Bria Metcalf-Lindenburger breaking the girls record and Ethan Urquhart taking down the guys. We had a TON of season and personal best marks set up in Bellingham. It was a great weekend!
