Rare bird sighting in Lake Forest Park

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of LFP Town Crier management or staff.

There was a sighting of an extremely rare bird in the Sheridan Heights neighborhood. I spotted a bird I could not recognize, so I consulted with the amazing birding community in the area, and found that I had a Red-flanked Bluetail in my yard. It is normally found in Asia and Russia, and is only the third confirmed sighting in Washington State ever. The bird was then seen for the next three days, but has not been seen since 7:30 am on Sunday. People will keep looking, but it is playing very hard to get right now. It was exciting while it lasted!
