Diane Hwang, founder of the Blue Hero Project, and her two children honored our police department with recognition for all they do with praise, support, appreciation, and an assortment of snacks, beverages, and custom cookies.
Diane's little helpers (children) have accompanied her on hundreds of police department visits keeping themselves (and the adults) entertainedThe Blue Hero Project's mission is "to provide support, appreciation, and encouragement to law enforcement officers and their families across the Northwest. We primarily do this through agency visits, where we bring a wagon full of snacks and drinks as a tangible expression of our support and appreciation. We also host law enforcement family events and assist officers and agencies in times of need."
Inspired by other police wives raising money for treats for local law enforcement, Diane Hwang decided to do the same and asked her community to buy snacks for Seattle-area police departments as a small way to show their support.

ZanellaAccording to blueheroproject.org, "Within one week, 55+ people from the community donated and pulled together enough money to bless 10+ departments with snacks and drinks.
As time went on and donations continued to come in, Diane and her husband, decided to launch Blue Hero Project and turn their ‘one-time’ idea into a nonprofit organization.
As of May 2025, we've done 206 agency visits and reached an estimated 7,500 officers across the region.
Our mission is to continue showing officers support and appreciation as we visit 3-4 departments each month, bringing a variety of snacks, drinks and Bibles for LEO Outreach Kits as a small token of our appreciation."
