At the April 11th, 2024 regular business meeting, the LFP city council heard the results of a safe speed study, which resulted in the proposal to reduce speeds from 30 to 25 MPH on all existing 30 MPH roadways. Additional enforcement and traffic calming on NE 195th St and 40th Pl were also discussed.

Further discussion regarding speed limits on Ballinger Way and Bothell Way revealed that since they're state routes, the city has to work with WSDOT to lower speed limits. The meeting showed that WSDOT hasn't been responsive to the mayor's queries, but pushing for action was slated for priority follow-up.

Ashton McCartney broke public trust by promising NOT to run to retain the council seat, then waging a write-in campaign to do just that. McCartney does not deserve our trust again.
