This is the second year we've had the chance to run the Shoreline Sustainable Skill Series, which included ELEVEN discounted classes, from sewing to home maintenance, and one Clothing Swap. It went amazingly, and we're incredibly grateful that we had the opportunity to offer this to the community.
This opportunity came about because of the City of Shoreline City Hall's Environmental Mini Grant Program, which enabled us to offer each class for only $10. Folks were also welcome to contact us to get the fee removed, which supported our goal of making these classes more accessible. While we can't be sure that we will be able to offer these classes again, we will continue to try and make education more accessible to the community. We also look forward to the opportunity to try to provide this type of class series again next year. In the meantime, our classes are available on a self-select sliding scale. This helps to reduce barriers for participation while retaining sufficient income for Seattle REconomy, which owns and operates the nonprofit NE Seattle and Shoreline tool libraries.
