LFP Water & Sewer Rates to Increase

Per this evening's city council regular business meeting, some anticipated water and sewer increases were discussed. King County is already increasing its rates 5.75% in 2023 and 2024. City officials are proposing an additional 10% increase in water rates and 3% increase in sewer rates for the same period. The city budget still appears to have a shortfall of over 1 million.

Some new revenue options were discussed as well.

Deputy Mayor John French also commended our police officers for handling 3 recent incidents he observed where officers were responding to people in crisis. He commended the officer's "grace, passion, dignity, and respect during these incidents."
