The City will be temporarily closing
the trail segment that extends from NE 201st Street into Horizon View
Park to allow for trail rehabilitation and infrastructure improvements.
Work
is anticipated to begin in early July. Specific construction dates have
not yet been finalized, and additional updates will be provided as soon
as the schedule is confirmed.
As part of the project, City staff
will install tree cells beneath the trail to evaluate an innovative
product designed to support healthy tree root growth while helping
protect the trail from future root-related damage. This pilot
installation will provide valuable information for future trail and
urban forestry projects.
We appreciate the public's patience
during this work and will share additional details, including closure
dates and detour information, when they become available.

YES! Very well said and well researched. Thank you.
After I completed the very first Community Police Academy (I would highly recommend participating in this), I had the honor of doing my "ride along" with Sgt Walker. A true compassionate professional and an asset to our LFP police department.
What an excellent choice. Chief Zanella will do an excellent job leading our LFP PD.
