Jimmy Kimmel returned to the air last night after widespread public pushback, including petitions from more than 475 artists and 40,000 ACLU supporters. However, major broadcast groups Nexstar and Sinclair said they still will not air his show on their ABC affiliates.
The controversy began after FCC Chair Brendan Carr warned ABC stations not to carry Kimmel’s program following remarks critical of the administration. Advocacy groups argue that the move threatens free speech and are urging the networks to resist political pressure.
