At approximately 10:30 AM Saturday, LFP PD and Shoreline Fire responded with two ladder trucks and paramedic units to an incident where a tree fell into the cab, injuring and trapping a heavy equipment operator. Video of the incident makes it apparent the worker didn't appear to have serious injuries despite the tree landing inches from him.
Fire department technical rescue crews stabilized the tree with cribbing, straps, and chain. Then they used two different chainsaws to carefully cut the tree so the patient could be extricated safely.

Moderate rain, with a high of 51 and low of 40 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Patchy rain nearby during the morning, sunny in the afternoon, overcast in the evening, patchy rain nearby overnight.
The cost and disruption to our community for this project is unnecessary to say the least. Not enough community voice on the necessity of the round about was given and the community meeting wasn’t open to anyone opposing the project.
