EDMONDS, Wash. — Irons Brothers Construction has received a 2026 Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) Excellence in Remodeling Award for Elevating the Forever Home, an accessibility-focused addition that helps local homeowners safely and comfortably remain in their multi-level residence.
The project was recognized in the Addition $250,000–$500,000 category of BIAW’s statewide remodeling competition.
When a sudden change in mobility made stairs difficult to navigate, the homeowners sought a long-term solution that would allow them to continue living in the home they love.

Irons Brothers Construction designed and built a seamless elevator addition that blends with the home’s original architecture while improving accessibility, safety, and everyday convenience.
The project included:
Today, the homeowners enjoy convenient access to every level of their home and the confidence of knowing it can continue to meet their needs for years to come.
“This project was about much more than adding an elevator,” said Joseph Irons, General Manager of Irons Brothers Construction. “It was about creating a forever home where our clients could continue living safely, comfortably, and independently.”
The homeowner echoed that sentiment:
“The elevator has given us peace of mind and made our home fully accessible again. We can continue living in the place we love, and that’s priceless.”

The BIAW Excellence in Remodeling Awards recognize outstanding remodeling projects across Washington state based on design, craftsmanship, innovation, and creative problem-solving.
