Travelers should prepare for significant detours as the Washington
State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) begins a major construction
project along Lyon Creek.
Starting at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, both directions of SR 104/Ballinger Way Northeast will be closed near 35th Avenue Northeast for at least 35 days. The closure includes all travel lanes and sidewalks.
The work is part of a WSDOT project aimed at improving fish passage
in Lyon Creek. Crews and contractors will be on-site around the clock
until the project is complete.
During the closure, signed detours will direct drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists around the construction zone.
WSDOT urges commuters to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel through the area.
Moderate rain, with a high of 51 and low of 40 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Patchy rain nearby during the morning, sunny in the afternoon, overcast in the evening, patchy rain nearby overnight.
The cost and disruption to our community for this project is unnecessary to say the least. Not enough community voice on the necessity of the round about was given and the community meeting wasn’t open to anyone opposing the project.
