Join King County Library's Instagram Poetry Celebration

April is National Poetry Month. We are offering a chance to have your poem featured on our @kclsteens Instagram. Here’s how it works:

• Write a short poem on any topic, in any style.
• Create a graphic of your poem using Canva or other design tool.
• Tag @kclsteens when you post your entry or direct message us your image.
• Follow us on Instagram to see if your poem is chosen.

Write or read some poetry.

Attend a poetry workshop led by Bitaniya Giday, the Seattle Youth Poet Laureate, on April 17 at 3pm.

Listen to poets read their work aloud on ProQuest Learning Literature. Learn about their creative process to help you get started. Visit Khan Academy to understand the parts of a poem. Then check out Poets.org, a website run by The Academy of American poets. There you'll find poems and other ways to celebrate National Poetry Month.
