# Local Authors David B. Williams and David Laskin to Appear at Ridgecrest Pub November 18

Ridgecrest Books is hosting an evening with two Pacific Northwest authors on **Wednesday, November 18, at 7 p.m.** Local historian, author and naturalist David B. Williams will be in conversation with award-winning author David Laskin at Ridgecrest Public House in Shoreline.

Williams is an author, naturalist and tour guide who has written 12 books, including the award-winning *Homewaters: A Human and Natural History of Puget Sound* and his latest work, *In the Range of Fire and Ice*.

He is also a Curatorial Associate at the Burke Museum and writes a free weekly Substack newsletter, *The Street Smart Naturalist*, exploring the natural history of the region.

Joining him will be David Laskin, author of several award-winning works of nonfiction, including *The Children's Blizzard*, *The Long Way Home* and *The Family*.

Laskin's first novel, *What Sammy Knew*, was published by Penguin in 2021. He is currently working on a second novel.

The evening will offer an opportunity to hear the two authors discuss their work, writing and interests.
