Notes on the police figures
- Police Chief: The preliminary budget lists $18,605.17 and $19,163.33 per month. The table uses the second amount as the requested Step 6 figure: $229,959.96 annually.
- Sergeant II: $11,575.20 per month, or $138,902.40 annually per position. At 4.0 FTE, that represents $555,609.60 annually if all four positions are filled at that rate.
- Sergeant I: $10,998 per month, or $131,976 annually per position. The preliminary budget lists 0.0 FTE.
- The sergeant rates are contractual rates, not conventional Step 3 and Step 6 rates. I have repeated them in both columns to make their annual compensation visible; that does not mean the contract provides two separate steps.
The elected-official amounts are also fixed compensation, not step-based salaries. Councilmember compensation is $800 per month per member, and the Mayor’s is $3,000 per month.
Rounding: annual amounts are rounded to the nearest dollar except where the exact policy calculations are explained above. A dash means the position does not have a comparable Step 3 or Step 6 figure in this presentation.
