LFP Police officers know the importance of training and keeping their skills honed. Per Chief Harden,"the department conducted our annual scenario-based training and defensive tactics at the old UW Medical Center location. The training consisted of defensive tactics, force on force, critical lifesaving skills, and de-escalation tactics and skills. The training involved scenario based training, incorporating the new laws. The focus of the training was reinforcing de-escalation skills based on time, distancing, and shielding. Officers also trained on high-risk vehicle stops and tactical medicine in duty to intervene for critical life saving situations.
