What made you want to get into law enforcement?
My interest in law enforcement began through the Explorer Program. That experience gave me an early look at the profession, the opportunity to serve the community, and the teamwork involved in policing. It confirmed that this was the career I wanted to pursue.

What type of work did you do before entering law enforcement?
Before becoming a Police Officer, I worked as a Loss Prevention Fraud Analyst and in Corporate Security. Those roles helped me develop investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills that continue to benefit me in law enforcement.

How long have you been in law enforcement?
I have been in law enforcement for approximately 10 years.

LFP is lucky to have you. Why did you choose our city to work in?
I lateraled from the Snohomish County area to the Lake Forest Park Police Department because of the opportunity to serve this community while also participating with the North Sound Metro SWAT team. It was a great opportunity for both professional growth and continued service.

What types of challenges do you face on the job?
Like many agencies, we face challenges related to legislative restrictions, higher charging thresholds, and funding. These factors can make it more difficult to effectively address crime and service the community.

Has your job become harder or more challenging over the years?
Yes. Over the years, the job has become noticeably more challenging due to changes in legislation, increasing demands on officers, and evolving public safety issues.

Are there additional resources or training that you wish were available?
Yes. Additional funding for equipment, a Pro-Act unit, staffing to help manage the high call volume, and ongoing training would greatly benefit both Officers and the community we serve.

What will it take for you to stay working in LFP?
In short, continuing participation with the North Sound Metro SWAT team. Additionally, maintaining adequate funding & staffing, and having the continued support of the Lake Forest Park community are all important factors.

Do you feel valued and respected in LFP?
Yes, absolutely. I feel very valued and respected by both the department and the community, and I appreciate that support.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I appreciate the opportunity to serve and protect the Lake Forest Park community. It is an honor to work alongside dedicated Officers and serve a community that greatly values public safety. Thank you all for your continued support.

Very respectfully,

Officer Frankie Montague
