PD LFPChief Zanella reports that on Friday at approx. 2:00 p.m., an Amazon delivery driver rolled backward down the Burke Gilman Trail (on Beach Dr NE and 38th PL NE), landing dangerously on the embankment with the driver stuck inside.
LFPPD Officer Coleman immediately placed his vehicle behind the delivery van so it would not roll down any further. Other officers and Cmdr. Adams blocked a portion of the Burke Gilman trail until a tow truck was able to secure the delivery van and bring it back to a safe position.
The driver was not injured and the officers received lots of compliments by several community members for their quick response.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 55 and low of 47 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Patchy rain nearby in the morning, light drizzle in the afternoon, patchy rain nearby in the evening, overcast overnight.

I occasionally listened to the radio comms, and it was entertaining, but I totally understand why LE would not want you to listen in. The perps committing crimes, such as burgs or home invasions, should not get a heads-up on when the police are responding.
