Shorecrest High School graduate Jude Ziliak was recently named an Outstanding Graduate of the WWU Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. During the 2025-26 academic year and the summer prior, Ziliak served as an intern with RH2 Engineering. During this time, Ziliak worked on the electrical designs for multiple water and wastewater facility projects.

Clients for these projects included the city of Bellingham, Skagit PUD, and the Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District. Ziliak said he felt honored to contribute to projects that benefitted local communities.

Ziliak also told us he was proud of his efforts to strengthen community and foster belonging in the EECE Department. Outside the department, Ziliak participated in collective bargaining on behalf of student employees at WWU and helped write the union’s first bylaws.

Ziliak celebrated his graduation with a backpacking trip around Europe. After he returns, he will begin a full-time position with RH2 Engineering as an electrical staff engineer in September.
