This week, Bothell Fire and Shoreline Fire Rescue Technicians trained on a complex rescue scenario. Scenario: Crews were dispatched to the 68th Ave bridge for a vehicle that had fallen over the edge, was suspended, and was tangled in wires, with no lower access from the water or boat launch.
Training took place at our Training Tower, where crews:• Accessed the vehicle from the “bridge” (5th floor)• Located, treated, and triaged trapped patients• Developed and executed a plan to safely remove patients and return to the 5th floor. The vehicle was suspended from the 2nd/3rd-floor awning and included an impalement element, further complicating the situation. Great work by all involved, continuing to train for these challenging, high-risk incidents!
