Community Paint Day A Success

Approximately 200 volunteers showed up to transform the massive concrete wall over McAleer Creek into a beautiful salmon mural. The design by artist Austin Picinich, a high-school senior, is intended to raise awareness about the salmon-bearing stream just below the road and the plight of our Puget Sound salmon.

Kim Josund of the LFP Stewardship Foundation and Austin's parents, Greg & Kate Picinich, help organize volunteer painters.

After painting the 112-foot "Save Our Salmon" mural on the SPUD Fish and Chips wall in Juanita, Lake Forest Park now benefits from this wonderful outreach.

Work continued through Sunday on this extensive project.

Alexandra (Alex) Nason (pictured left) of UrbanArtWorks was a huge help all week.
